WATCH: Middle School Teacher Caught On Camera Berating Son Of Two Police Officers For Wearing “Blue Lives Matter” Face Mask…Calls It the “New Confederate flag”

Lucas Liller, a 13-year-old Lyman Gilmore Middle School student whose parents are both police officers in California, was reprimanded by a substitute teacher for wearing a “Blue Lives Matter” American flag face mask to show his support for law enforcement. A student in the classroom filmed the teacher berating Liller for wearing the mask with a “thin blue line” running through the American flag.

The exchange begins with the substitute teacher making an incredibly inflammatory and ignorant statement to the middle-school student: “That’s not the American flag, that’s the new confederacy flag!”

“It’s the thin blue line,” the student explains.

“No—it’s black, white with some blue line in it!” the substitute teacher shoots back.

“It’s the thin blue line!” the 13-yr-old son of two police officers exclaims.

The unhinged substitute teacher responds in the most un-American way possible, “Yeah, but it’s not American!”

Lucas’ mom says she is “mind-blown” over the confrontation.

His mom says she doesn’t want her kids to “not be able to suppport what they want to support,” and expressed her shock over the confrontation.

Daily Mail reports – The classroom confrontation came on the heels of several high-profile killings of police officers from coast to coast. In California, LAPD cop Fernando Arroyo was shot dead during an armed robbery last month, while New York City has been mourning two cops who were killed while responding to a domestic violence call.

The Fraternal Order of Police argues violence directed at law enforcement officers is skyrocketing, with 2022 already having seen 39 police officers injured and 14 killed in shootings.

January 2022 saw 32 officer shootings, compared to 17 reported in January 2021 and 2020

Compare to cop shootings while President Trump, a huge supporter of law enforcement, was in office:

Last year, 346 officers were shot and 63 killed in the line of duty, according to a report from the National Fraternal Order of Police. In 2020, 312 were shot and 47 killed, in comparison to 293 shot and 50 killed in 2019

Patrick Yoes, the President of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), said in a statement last month that the nationwide crime surge has caused an increase in violence targeted at officers.

‘As crime rates continue to rise, the violence directed at law enforcement officers is skyrocketing,’ he said. ‘I have worked in law enforcement for 36 years, and the current level of violence targeted at our law enforcement officers is the worst I have ever seen.’

Last year, 346 officers were shot and 63 killed in the line of duty, according to a FOP report. In 2020, 312 were shot and 47 killed, in comparison to 293 shot and 50 killed in 2019.

Texas reported the highest number of officer shootings in 2021, at 43, followed by Illinois, California, and Georgia with 29, 23 and 19, respectively.

Yoes argued the ‘alarming rise’ in violent crimes and violence targeting police needs to be addressed immediately by all levels of government and society as a whole or ‘we will all suffer the consequences.’

‘The Fraternal Order of Police is committed to meaningful criminal justice reform, and we will keep working with our partners in Congress and the Administration to this end,’ he stated. ‘It is imperative, however, that any reform proposal must have the safety of the public and the officers sworn to protect them as its top priority.’

‘Now is the time for our elected officials at every level of government to recommit to community-oriented policing and providing public safety agencies with the resources they need to keep our communities safe from violence and crime.’
