Rep. James Clyburn did his best during a CNN interview to fearmonger while discussing the federal law enforcement that has been called in to deal with the war zone in Portland. The local police are being told to stand down, and even when they act, they are unable to stop the violence (see below).
Federal law enforcement is there because of the complete failure of the city to stop the violence.
Clyburn tries to make this into a political decision for Americans. He claims it’s the end of the “Democracy” when there are “Gestapo activities.”
Is Clyburn saying he would just allow the city of Portland to be controlled by anarchists and thugs who are assaulting police?
OUR REPORT FROM EARLY JULY:
Last night, the City of Portland looked to the sky for fireworks, but not in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday. Rather, ANTIFA radicals used fireworks to attack police and the public, even injuring one of their own comrades.
In what appears to be something out of “The Purge,” ANTIFA lit fireworks outside the Portland federal courthouse. Ultimately, they rioted for hours and attempted to start a fire in the courthouse.

After more than 30 days of ANTIFA rioting, looting, and arson in Portland, there is no sign of its slowing. On Friday, Portland police declared a riot near the federal courthouse and demanded protesters to leave the area or face crowd-control munitions, according to Fox News. Protesters threw water bottles and other objects as police fired pepper balls and at least one flash-bang at protesters in front of the courthouse, according to freelance reporter Sergio Olmos.
The “protest”…more like CRIME…comes one day after Portland police declared the “riot” and arrested dozens of protesters while trying to clear the crowd. Police also used CS gas, a type of tear gas on protesters, after giving warnings of arrest and use of force to those who didn’t disperse.
Andy Ngo, the journalist, posted a video of the unrest near the federal courthouse that he said showed U.S. military protecting the building that was under attack.

Rioters have primarily demonstrated outside of the Multnomah County Justice Center for more than a month following the death of George Floyd. Further south in Eugene, Ore., police called for a crowd to disperse after protesters started tearing down a fence behind the Lane County Jail and ripped down the American flag hanging outside of the jail and burned it, KEZI-TV reported. It was the second flag burning this week.
Portland Police Bureau Chief Chuck Lovell said in a statement, “Engaging in criminal activity including vandalism and property damage is not peaceful demonstration. We ask for the public’s help in identifying and sharing information about those responsible so they can be held accountable.”
