We’d advise the president NOT to consult this ‘genius’

(TNS) As a government policy expert and immunologist, Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of the oft-mocked daytime gabfest “The View,” is a pretty okay comedienne.
As governors around the country place their citizens under orders of limited mobility and shutter businesses to prevent mass spread of COVID-19, even as federal and state health officials scramble to figure out how it operates, Goldberg graced us with her vast knowledge of dealing with pandemics by casting blame and aspersions at the least guilty party: President Donald Trump.
As The Blaze reported:
During the show’s Friday broadcast, Goldberg said that a lack of leadership all but guaranteed Americans would be under lock and key in their homes to wait out the COVID-19 pandemic.
Co-host Sunny Hostin, a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, insisted that Americans were under fire because they were caught unaware. She explained that Americans were not on guard because their president insisted that COVID-19 was a “hoax” — a suggestion that the president has vehemently denied.
In fact, and for the umpteenth time, the president never called coronavirus a “hoax.”
What he said at a campaign rally last month was, “Now, the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” and, “One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.’ That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. And this is their new hoax.”
The ‘hoax’ is that Democrats (and daytime gabfest geniuses like Goldberg and Hostin) are claiming the president hasn’t done anything, hasn’t led, the nation as we deal with this still-emerging threat.
More: “[Americans] listened to the president, who called it a hoax,” Hostin insisted. “There are lives at stake.”
Goldberg then put the blame squarely on “leadership.”
“The interesting thing about all of this is whatever channel you’re watching, you’re still watching from home,” she began. “You’re watching from inside your house. Because a pandemic has happened, and you are stuck, and whatever side you’re on, you understand that when you have leadership you would not be — you would not be stuck in your house.”
Really, genius? Really?
Maybe a more accurate statement would be something to the effect of: ‘Americans wouldn’t be stuck in their homes if China had been much more upfront about the virus’ contagion, where it actually began, how it made the leap to humans and other useful details that lots of Italian families would also like to know.’
Utter stupidity. Really. There’s just no other way to describe it.
And for the record, maybe someone should inform these policy gurus who don’t really have any helpful suggestions that most of the country thinks the president’s doing alright during this crisis.
