U.S. Supreme Court Sides With Wisconsin GOP And Rejects Dems’ Last Minute Attempt To Change The Election Rules

That danged Constitution gets in the way again

(TNS) The U.S. Supreme Court slapped down a bid by Wisconsin Democrats to ‘tinker’ with the state’s primary election with a late Monday decision rejecting their demand to extend mail-in voting for days.

“Extending the date by which ballots may be cast by voters — not just received by the municipal clerks but cast by voters — for an additional six days after the scheduled election day fundamentally alters the nature of the election,” the majority opinion read.

“The court would prefer not to do so, but when a lower court intervenes and alters the election rules so close to the election date, our precedents indicate that this court, as appropriate, should correct that error,” the majority opinion added.

Democrats blasted the decision, of course, because — more than anything — it signals that the nation’s highest court isn’t about to allow their party to jerry-rig the election processes around the country to their advantage.

Yes, it’s horrendously bad (for Democrats) when the Constitution gets in the way, huh?

The ruling comes as Democrats in Congress and their Left-wing allies including George Soros attempt to use the coronavirus crisis to nationalize ‘mail-in balloting,’ ‘curbside’ ballot collection, ‘ballot harvesting,’ and other schemes designed to steal elections.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and former Vice President Joe Biden say we must throw election integrity to the wayside in favor of an all-mail election, fundamentally changing how Americans vote in eight months.

The overhaul would vastly expand opportunities for fraud and weaken confidence in our elections, but all Washington Democrats see is a potential benefit for their party,” McDaniel wrote in an op-ed for Fox News. “The Democrats’ all-mail ballots proposal is a ruse to legalize ballot harvesting nationwide.

Any person would be allowed to return an unlimited number of absentee ballots for voters, opening the door for political operatives to deliver ballots in bulk,” she continued.

“They could even be paid as long as he or she is not paid based on the number of ballots returned,” McDaniel wrote.
