OPINION| Lawrence David| Remember the name John McEntee.
If President Trump successfully purges the permanent bureaucracy of government workers committed to advancing their own agendas rather than the ones the president wants, it’s likely John McEntee will play an important role.
(Axios) Johnny McEntee called in White House liaisons from cabinet agencies for an introductory meeting Thursday, in which he asked them to identify political appointees across the U.S. government who are believed to be anti-Trump, three sources familiar with the meeting tell Axios.
Behind the scenes: McEntee, a 29-year-old former body man to Trump who was fired in 2018 by then-Chief of Staff John Kelly but recently rehired — and promoted to head the presidential personnel office — foreshadowed sweeping personnel changes across government.
-But McEntee suggested the most dramatic changes may have to wait until after the November election.
-Trump has empowered McEntee — whom he considers an absolute loyalist — to purge the “bad people” and “Deep State.”
-McEntee told staff that those identified as anti-Trump will no longer get promotions by shifting them around agencies.
McEntee, with whom President Trump entrusted his life prior to and in the early days of his presidency, takes over the White House personnel office, a position from which he can make a lasting impact curtailing the effectiveness of the president’s Deep State detractors.
Coming on the heels of Wednesday’s appointment of Ric Grenell to head the Office of Director of National Intelligence and Kash Patel taking the role of senior advisor to Grenell, this may signal the inflection point in the president’s promise to wage war on unelected bureaucrats who have been undermining President Trump – both his agenda and his legitimacy to govern.
The media is attempting to paint these recent moves by Trump as those of a tyrant but Trump is doing what he was elected to do… surround himself with people who will advance the agenda Americans elected on.
That same media stood silent while former Manchurian President Barack Hussein Obama purged at least 197 military officers while he ordered the depletion of military materiel and involved us in wars without purpose.
Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely characterized Obama’s firing spree like this in 2013:
“Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama’s ideology. The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into Fast and Furious, Benghazi and ObamaCare. He’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”
The appointments of Grenell, Patel, and now McEntee would seem to suggest President Trump is preparing to unleash hell on the Deep State.
