Ted Cruz: ‘Partisan Impeachment Process We’ve Seen Thus Far Is OVER’
Let the acquittal of President Trump begin…

(TNS) Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted a message on Thursday in support of President Donald Trump and Republicans in the Senate who must now deal with the clown show impeachment Democrats blew up all constitutional precedent in order to pass.
“I’m headed to the Senate floor,” the Texas Republican says in a video. “The partisan impeachment we’ve seen is over.”

Earlier, House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and the lead impeachment manager kicked off the impeachment trial by formally reading the two articles of impeachment only supported by Democrats the president last month, ‘abuse of power’ and ‘obstruction of Congress.’
There isn’t a single reference to any laws Trump is alleged to have broken, however, which is not at all what the Constitution proscribes in terms of impeachable offenses.
“We will then proceed to have to a fair trial, to respect due process, unlike the House, to give the president a full and fair opportunity to defend himself, and then we’ll decide this issue based on the constitutional standards for impeachment, which is high crimes and misdemeanors,” Cruz says.
“The House articles don’t meet that standard. They don’t allege any criminal conduct whatsoever, so at the end of this process, after a fair trial, the president will be acquitted and we will end this constitutional circus, this political farce that started in the House,” he continued.
“This is the beginning of the end of the abuse of the Constitution.”
Let the acquittal begin!
