At some point, Americans en masse will begin to ‘opt-out’ of a system that has been irreparably corrupted

(TNS) On Thursday, we got to see yet another glaring example of just how feckless and incapable our institutions are when it comes to holding to account those who are supposed to be serving us.
As the Democrat-aligned “mainstream media” breathlessly reported the comments made by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, as she sentenced GOP operative Roger Stone to 40 months in prison — claiming he “covered up” for the president — the same outlets failed miserably to report with equal urgency details behind the greatest political scandal in the history of our country, and one that nearly deprived Americans of a duly-elected president.
The allegation that President Trump is a “Russian asset” who “colluded” with Moscow to “steal the 2016 election” was a lie repeated so often that a plurality of Americans still believe it.
And clearly, the mainstream media was mostly responsible not simply for echoing the lie, but for providing a ready platform to those who crafted the lie and perpetuated it via a ‘counterintelligence’ operation called “Crossfire Hurricane.”
Which brings us to the Justice Department’s role in all of this.
Stone, recall, is a casualty of the Robert Mueller ‘investigation,’ which was, recall, allegedly prompted by an illegal leak of reportedly classified information by a former FBI director, James Comey who, recall, was aware that the “Russia dossier” concocted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and used to justify the Crossfire Hurricane operation was phony.
The coup attempt against President Trump began in during the Obama administration and continued into his administration — we all know that now. But as Fox Business Network Lou Dobbs noted recently on his program, there was a key point when it all could have, and should have, come crashing down on the guilty.
Had it happened, not only would we be seeing true justice being meted out by now, but the ongoing effort to depose the president — Ukrainegate, impeachment, etc. — would have ended.
Dobbs noted:
[There is] a key moment that could have changed the way the President’s first three-and-a-half years in office enfolded – the DoJ’s corrupt decision not to prosecute a man for leaking classified information. That man was the former security director for the Senate Intelligence Committee, James Wolfe. Wolfe was indicted in 2018 for leaking information to four journalists, including one with whom he was having an affair. He also lied to the FBI.
As we reported here before, Wolfe’s indictment shows he picked up a highly classified document on March 2017 to take to the Senate Intelligence Committee. A later FBI sentencing recommendation confirmed that that document included the first two FISA warrants for Carter Page. But James Wolfe was never charged with leaking those classified documents. Most of the charges against him were dropped in what could be called nothing other than a sweetheart deal orchestrated by former US Attorney Jesse Liu [pictured above]. Wolfe was allowed to plead guilty to one count – just one count of lying to investigators – for which he served two months. Two months in prison.
It is that moment in which we can now see evidence of the Dept of Justice covering up a background scheme to remove the President. Had the prosecution of Wolfe gone on, it’s likely that text messages between Senate Intel Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) and Christopher Steele’s attorney Adam Waldman might have been highly scrutinized. We’ll never know. Further questions would have been asked about Warner’s links to Steele – and of course the credibility of Steele’s work.
But it wasn’t in the leftwing national media’s best interests to look into Wolfe’s case. There were too busy making claims like these about the Steele dossier. (played video clips of CNN and MSNBC talking heads claiming that the dossier was corroborated, valid, truthful, etc.) So just exactly how did this cover-up work, and how has it been allowed to go on for so long … and [as claimed in that video snippet] “gained credibility”? Looking back on those fateful days, it’s amazing how gullible the leftwing national media pretended at least to be.
Liu, recall, was just removed from consideration for a Treasury Department position by President Trump, very likely because of her role in letting Wolfe skate with a two-month sentence when he should be doing years behind bars by now.
Meanwhile, Stone is now waiting for Berman Jackson to decide if he’ll get a new trial after the discovery that the lead juror in his case was afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome. And percolating in the background is U.S. Attorney John Durham’s ongoing criminal probe into the origins of the coup attempt.
Fact: If nothing happens to those who were involved in this greatest of all political scandals, then there will be another attempt by another group of rogue government officials to remove a president they didn’t pick or approve of. Maybe that one succeeds, and if so, then things will get really interesting because it’s likely a sizable portion of the country — entire states, even — will elect to ‘opt-out’ of a system that has been irreparably corrupted.
