No wonder the president stopped doing regular press conferences

(TNS) The establishment media has consistently utilized President Donald Trump’s coronavirus briefings as a platform for ‘performance journalism,’ rife with ‘gotcha’ questions that are primarily designed to attack him rather than actually inform the American people.
And one more than one occasion, now that these briefings have stretched into weeks, the president has had his fill of the nonsense.
Like on Sunday.
After being accused by CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond of being more focused on his administration’s coronavirus achievements than ‘the death toll’ everyone in the Washington press corps wants us to endlessly focus on, Trump had had enough.
“Can you explain why you come out here and you are reading clips and showing clips of praise for you and your administration? Is this really the time for self-congratulations?” Diamond asked — the implication being, of course, that Trump doesn’t give a damn about Americans who have died, which is patently and obviously absurd, given what he’s done to try to save people.
“What I’m doing is standing up for the men and women that have done an incredible job,” Trump replied, adding “I’m also sticking up for doctors and nurses and military doctors and nurses.”
“Those people have been just absolutely excoriated by some of the fake news, like you.” Trump continued, adding “You’re CNN, you’re fake news. And let me just tell you, they were excoriated by people like you that don’t know any better because you don’t have the brains you were born with.”
Yee-ouch.
The president also noted that while he is used to being personally attacked, he’s obviously losing patience with critics of his coronavirus task force.
“It’s not about me, nothing’s about me. You’re never going to treat me fairly, many of you, and I understand that,” he said, adding “I got here with the worst, most unfair press treatment they say in the history of the United States for a president.”
Diamond also questioned if Trump has been “duped” by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“You know who was duped? You and the Obama administration was duped for years,” Trump responded, and further pointing to his early decision to ban travel from China.
“You people are so pathetic at CNN… That’s why your ratings are so bad: because you’re pathetic. Your ratings are terrible; you got to get back to real news,” Trump blasted.
Mediate has the video and it is here.
For the record, the president stands up for himself and his administration because the very same media pinheads who excoriate him for doing so refuse to acknowledge and report even the slightest accomplishment, though there have been many.
