Disagreeing with Trump’s policies doesn’t excuse providing aid and comfort to a competitor nation

(TNS) If today’s media mob was around in the 1940s and they despised President Franklin D. Roosevelt as much as they despite President Donald Trump, we’d all be speaking German now. Or Japanese. Or a combination of both.
Because they would have constantly sided with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan against Roosevelt — publishing ‘leaked’ war plans, engaging in verbal combat during press conferences, belittling the president, and regurgitating propaganda without hesitation or skepticism.
So it’s a good thing our country isn’t at war — yet — with China, because Beijing’s Communists would be getting all the love from the perfumed, blow-dried, self-important purveyors of disinformation and fake news that is today’s “mainstream media.”
Earlier this week, President Trump threatened to cut off funding from the very China-friendly World Health Organization after its director-general,
As noted by NewsBusters:
In their rush to defend the World Health Organization from President Trump’s criticism of the agency’s failures in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, on Wednesday, journalists on CBS and ABC ignored that the WHO initially promoted false Chinese propaganda about the disease and routinely lavished the authoritarian regime with effusive praise.
“Now to Washington, where President Trump is threatening to pull U.S. funding from the World Health Organization,” co-host Tony Dokoupil warned on CBS This Morning.
He then selectively touted: “The WHO sent out multiple coronavirus alerts earlier this year. In fact, declaring it a global health emergency back in January.”
Yes, well, the WHO also spread dangerous misinformation about the coronavirus by tweeting out this patently false claim in January, as NewsBusters reminds us: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China”

Funny how the garbage ‘news’ networks just missed that.
Also, the agency sent that tweet Jan. 14; it did not declare a global health emergency until Jan. 30 — right about the time President Donald Trump slapped a travel ban on China. And just a few days later, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus claimed the travel ban would “unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade.”
“We call on all countries to implement decisions that are evidence-based and consistent,” Tedros told the WHO executive board Feb. 3.
Reuters added:
China is facing increasing international isolation due to restrictions on flights to and from the country, and bans on travellers from China.
Yes, poor China. Woe are they, incubators of the latest global pandemic.
NewsBusters continues:
Choosing to censor that detail from viewers, Dokoupil sneered: “The President largely dismissed those warnings, saying also in January, ‘It’s going to be just fine.’ That’s a direct quote. Now, as Ben Tracy reports, Mr. Trump claims the WHO failed.”
If only there was an embarrassing “direct quote” from January he could have found from the WHO.
In the report that followed, White House correspondent Ben Tracy kept up the defense of the United Nations-backed group: “The President is shifting blame for the spread of the coronavirus to the World Health Organization, saying it should have provided better warnings….The organization labeled coronavirus a global health emergency in January.”
The fact that many critics around the world have raised serious questions about the WHO’s independence and its cozy relationship with the Chinese government was never mentioned.
And on ABC’s “Good Morning, America,” co-host Michael Strahan sounded the concerned note: “But we also heard the President, in the middle of this pandemic, he threatened to cut off funding to the….World Health Organization.”
Meanwhile, White House correspondent Cecilia Vega declared: “And it’s because he says he’s angry with the group, saying that they’ve been too China-centric during this outbreak…”
Neither of them presented the evidence that validated the concern, however — which is typical.
And let’s never forget that the ChiCom government has been lying about real coronavirus infections and deaths from the outset, deliberately undercounting so as to present itself as far more competent than it really is.
Even U.S. intelligence agencies have reported that finding, but that bit of information came…and went…because the garbage media let it die and now refuses to acknowledge it.
Cherry-picking the president’s words and taking them out of context is what these people do. They don’t ‘report.’ They don’t ‘inform.’ They find and then focus on the ‘anti-Trump’ narrative of the day and hammer it home like lemmings.
It’s one thing to disagree with a president’s policies, politics, and personality. But that doesn’t excuse providing aid and comfort to a competitor nation we may have to fight someday.
