“The View” co-host Joy Behar, whose inane commentary often makes about as much sense as a square tire, once again demonstrated her lack of knowledge and appreciation for American constitutional liberties in her never-ending affront to President Donald Trump and his legions of supporters.
On Tuesday Behar trashed the president’s supporters as nothing but “pawns” — because, you know, all liberals who supported Barack Obama and who now support Joe Biden are of ‘free will and strong minds’ — in Trump’s “political game” of making the wearing of masks a personal choice (because liberty).
“There’s certain rules that you have to follow, you know, you can’t drive if you’re drunk. You have to wear a seatbelt. You’re not allowed to smoke in public, things like that, that you sign away your freedom in a way to be restricted in your car,” Behar said regarding making the wearing of masks mandatory like other Left-wing authoritarian nannies want to do.
“And if you don’t abide by this, you go to jail, or you’re fined. The rules being distorted by Trump and his enablers in the Congress, in particular, the leaders in Congress who are enabling him, he’s playing a political game with people’s lives. And these people do not realize that they are pawns in his game. He only wants to be reelected. He doesn’t really care if you live or die,” she said, baselessly.
Question: If Trump doesn’t care whether his supports die, how’s he going to be reelected?
In any event, Behar continued mindlessly:
I mean, witness the fact that he went golfing on Memorial Day when the names are being printed in The New York Times about how many people have died. He couldn’t care less. He wants to turn people against each other so that he gets reelected. Let’s take the example of the church. Does anybody really believe that he’s so religious and cares so much about people going to church? No, he doesn’t. He only wants to turn you against each other, religion against other religion.
First off, Obama golfed too, a lot. And not always under the best optics. Secondly, Trump has absolutely no say in what the idiot America-haters at The New York Times are going to publish since they don’t run their daily news budget by him for approval. Third, where does Behar get off claiming to know what anyone cares or doesn’t care about?
She added:
One of the priests I know is saying you can really basically worship the Lord from anywhere. I believe in Islam. It is a fact that you could pray in your living room, in your bathroom, in your kitchen, anywhere you want. If you are in touch with God, you can pray wherever you are. No, he has to say go and open the churches. Why does he fiddle with people’s lives, is what I want to know?
Groan. Actually, Catholics believe that being in God’s House on Sundays is pretty much a requirement, though obviously there isn’t much they can do if the governor of the state threatens to fine them if they gather in person.
That said, people who want to attend church services in person ought to be able to do so; Trump’s not mandating it one way or the other, so what’s this ‘fiddling with people’s lives’ nonsense? Does anyone think Joy Behar would follow Trump’s order to end social distancing?
She then said something that makes no sense whatsoever: “School children are now forced to wear bulletproof backpacks. Why is it that their freedoms are being impinged upon, but yours are not because you don’t want to wear a mask? Why are you more important than those children?”
What in the world…? What do school children and bulletproof backpacks have to do with masks?
And isn’t choosing whether or not you want to wear a mask amid a pandemic your choice? Isn’t that what pro-abortionists like Behar say about that subject — ‘my body, my choice’?
The fact is, if you’re not a committed Leftist, you simply don’t have the irrational mind to think like one. Exercising free will, which is a founding American principle, doesn’t make you a “pawn.”
