It’s getting harder to tell whether presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is having mental acuity issues or if he’s just playing a typical member of the scandal-ridden Obama administration.
As we reported Tuesday, Biden told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that he didn’t know anything at all about the Obama FBI’s targeting of incoming Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn when asked about it during an otherwise softball interview.
“What did you know about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn and was there anything improper done?” the host asked.
“I know nothing about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn,” Biden replied without hesitation. “Number two, this is all about diversion!” he claimed.
To the host’s credit, though, he pressed Biden about his answer.
“You say you didn’t know anything about it but you were in a January 5, 2017 meeting where you and the president were briefed on the FBI’s plan to question Michael Flynn over those conversations which he had with the Russian ambassador Kislyak …”

On January 5, 2017, Biden attended an Oval Office meeting to discuss Russian election interference with then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, then-CIA Director John Brennan, and then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, according to recently declassified documents. Then-National security adviser Susan Rice and other members of the national security council were also in on the meeting.
“I was aware that there was–that they had asked for an investigation. But that’s all I know about it,” Biden would later say.
Now, however, we learn that Biden was on a list of several Obama-era officials who may have requested that Flynn be unmasked in classified intelligence reporters being gathered by various officials for the purpose, allegedly, of later entrapping him.
Former Fox News investigative reporter Catherine Herridge, now with CBS News, broke the story in a tweet.

If you look through the documents — released by American patriot and acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell — of people who may have requested, you’ll see Biden’s name on page three at the bottom.
Other familiar names include Comey, Brennan, Clapper, and then-UN Ambassador Samantha Power, who claimed in testimony before Congress she never personally made any of the hundreds of unmasking requests bearing her name, but that they instead were filed by underlings.
There’s also another interesting name on the list of possibles: Then-White House Chief of Staff to President Obama, Denis McDonough.
What interest would he have in unmaking Flynn? And why hasn’t Obama been asked about any of this yet?
