OPINION| Lawrence David – U.S. Representative Devin Nunes joined Siraj Hashmi’s podcast for a lengthy interview. Mr. Nunes has been the leading Republican on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) since before Donald Trump was elected.
Nunes is as read into every aspect of the ongoing coup efforts as anyone can be having access to the most classified information.
The entire 45-minute interview is worth the listen but we will focus on the reason the Obama holdovers at the FBI thought it was imperative to dispose of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, President Trump’s choice for National Security Advisor.

Nunes: I can tell you one thing that General Flynn is not and that is a Russian agent. That was asinine from the beginning…
… It was Iran and his concern about the growth of al Qaeda in Iraq… the regrowth of al Qaeda in Iraq that became ISIS… there were those two issues I believe why he was fired (by the Obama administration).
As head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Flynn was aware of Obama’s malfeasance/misfeasance in empowering Iran’s policy towards establishing hegemony across the Middle East.
Obama’s promotion of Iran should come as no surprise. In August of 2016, Michael Ledeen, a former consultant to the National Security Council and U.S. Defense Department, penned a column at PJ Media stating Obama opened a back-channel to Iran during his 2008 presidential campaign.
Ledeen: “The actual strategy is detente first, and then a full alliance with Iran throughout the Middle East and North Africa.”
It is with this knowledge that you can understand how a patriot like General Flynn, having watched; the ISIS (JV team) grow into a worldwide terror threat, Obama’s lifting of financial sanctions by the U.S. freeing $150 billion to the terror driven but cash-strapped Mullahs, and literally giving $1.6 billion in cash for Iran to further their terrorist operations with a clear path to nuclear weapons, would become an existential threat to the Manchurian president.
Keep in mind that General Flynn was head of the DIA and had intimate knowledge of all of the details… the text messages, the phone conversations, the emails.
In January 2018, Politico ran a blockbuster report detailing how the Obama administration stifled the investigation into Iranian-backed Hezbollah’s international criminal operations.
The terrorist organization was selling up to a billion dollars per year worth of cocaine (Project Cassandra) on the streets of the United States:
“In its determination to secure a nuclear deal with Iran, the Obama administration derailed an ambitious law enforcement campaign targeting drug trafficking by the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, even as it was funneling cocaine into the United States, according to a POLITICO investigation.
Obama ordered the termination of Project Cassandra despite reports that Bronx-based Al Kourani and Michigan resident Samer El Debek were “allegedly work[ing] as undercover operatives for Iranian Hezbollah’s notorious “Unit 910” foreign terrorist wing.”
Back to Nunes: “As the Trump campaign started rolling, President Trump trusted him [Flynn]. They brought General Flynn in to brief President Trump… and then he was targeted because he knew where all the bodies were buried…
“… And, he [Gen. Flynn] knew that the Obama administration had seeded, here in Washington at the highest levels of the intelligence agencies, a bunch of people who he knew were not up to par…
“”He [Flynn] would have brought in a whole new crop of people and so he was cut off at his knees before he even got started…”
When you realize that all of this happened while Obama’s CIA director John Brennan, ODNI James Clapper, and FBI Directors Robert Mueller and then James Comey were supposed to be protecting the citizens of the United States…
… well you can understand why they’re desperate to silence General Flynn and to stop Donald Trump…
